About us
DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence’s operational needs.
DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team
Human Resources (HR) are responsible for delivering high-quality people outcomes across DHA from strategy development through to implementation and service delivery. We work in partnership with stakeholders across DHA to:
- Deliver HR services in the end-to-end employee lifecycle, including recruitment, remuneration and conditions, case management, and general employment matters.
- Support DHA to have the right capabilities now and into the future, through workforce planning, learning and development, and performance management strategies and frameworks.
- Develop and implement initiatives to build a positive and inclusive workplace culture that values the diversity of our people and promotes high performance and engagement.
About the role
The Director HR Strategy leads DHA's enterprise workforce strategy, ensuring the organisation has the workforce capability, leadership capacity, culture and organisational maturity required to deliver its strategic objectives and maintain long-term organisational performance.
As a senior leader within the Human Resources Branch, the role provides enterprise leadership across workforce planning, organisational development, leadership and capability development, employee experience, and culture. The position brings these disciplines together to deliver an integrated workforce strategy that supports organisational performance, workforce sustainability, and DHA's evolving business needs.
This is a Non-ongoing Engagement for a period of up to 12 months with possibility of extension or permanency.
