DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence’s operational needs.
DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team
The Contractor Management Team (CMT) is responsible for the strategic management, governance and performance oversight of DHA’s national repairs and maintenance contractor arrangements.
The team provides national leadership for contractor governance, contract administration, performance monitoring, compliance assurance and continuous improvement activities to ensure accordance with contractual obligations. maintenance services are delivered safely, effectively and in accordance with contractual obligations.
CMT works closely with Regional Service Operations, the Maintenance Contact Centre and key corporate stakeholders to drive contractor performance, manage risk, deliver value for money and support the achievement of DHA’s asset management objectives by monitoring and reporting on contractor KPIs; ensuring compliance and value for money objectives are met; and the provision suitably skilled Residential Maintenance Services contractors.
About the role
The Maintenance Contract Manager is responsible for the governance, administration and performance management of DHA’s national repairs and maintenance contractor arrangements.
The role manages contractor performance, compliance, risk and contractual obligations to support the effective delivery of maintenance services and achievement of value-for-money outcomes. The position supports procurement activities, contract administration, performance reporting and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen contractor management practices across DHA.
Through effective stakeholder engagement and collaboration, the role contributes to the achievement of DHA’s asset management objectives and strategic priorities.
