About us

DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence’s operational needs.  

DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team

Service Operations plays a vital role in delivering housing and property services that support Australia's Defence community. As part of DHA's Service Delivery Group, we help ensure Defence members and their families have access to quality housing that is allocated, maintained and managed effectively.

Our team is responsible for delivering tenancy, landlord and property management services in the Perth region. From supporting tenants and landlords to coordinating property repairs and maintenance, you'll play a key role in providing exceptional service and ensuring homes are well cared for.

DHA is growing in the Rockingham region to support a significant expansion of our housing portfolio and the increasing demand for services from Defence members and their families. As a result, we're expanding our team and seeking motivated property professionals who are passionate about delivering exceptional customer service. About the role

As a Property Manager, you'll be the face of Defence Housing Australia (DHA), helping ADF members and their families feel at home as they relocate and settle into new communities. You'll make a real difference by providing exceptional service and ensuring Defence families have access to safe, well-maintained homes.

Working within a supportive and experienced team, you'll manage your own portfolio of properties while building strong relationships with tenants, landlords and contractors. You'll play a key role in delivering positive customer experiences, maintaining quality housing and protecting valuable property assets.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that combines office-based work with time in the field, offering plenty of variety and opportunities to build your skills.

Your day could include:

  • Conducting property inspections and assessing property conditions
  • Coordinating maintenance and repair work to keep homes in top condition
  • Supporting tenants, landlords and contractors to achieve positive outcomes
  • Managing customer enquiries and resolving issues with professionalism and care
  • Working alongside technical specialists who provide expert advice on complex building and maintenance matters

Required skills:

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on outcomes
  • Great organisational and time management skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to adapt to change and work under pressure
  • Valid driver’s licence

Previous experience in property management or other real estate sectors is advantageous but is not essential.
