About us
DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence’s operational needs.
DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team
The Chief Financial Officer’s Group, led by the Chief Financial Officer, oversees fiscal management services throughout the organisation. The Research Services team is tasked with designing, administering, and analysing member satisfaction surveys. These surveys serve as the primary source of information regarding the satisfaction levels of members and their families with DHA’s housing products and related services.
About the role
As a research manager, you will lead key research and analysis projects, applying your expertise to deliver insights that support evidence-based decision-making within DHA. You will be responsible for designing, managing, and delivering research initiatives, including survey design, data preparation, input to focus groups, and analysis.
You will guide the team in building capabilities across data governance, business intelligence, and research methodologies, while ensuring adherence to APS values, public service professionalism and ethical expectations, and data management standards.
Your work will directly support DHA’s purpose of providing adequate and suitable housing for, and housing-related services to, members of the Defence Force and their families, which contribute to Defence retention, wellbeing, and operational goals.
