DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence’s operational needs.  

DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About the role

The Applications Support Team Lead (DHA6) within the Business Solutions & Technology (BS&T) group is responsible for overseeing Level 2 application support for a diverse portfolio of systems. The role is a dynamic and hands on leadership role where you will balance technical problem solving with mentoring a small team to deliver timely, high-quality resolutions.

Skills you need to succeed in the role:

  • Demonstrated team management experience, with a strong focus on customer service and continuous improvement
  • Systems analysis experience, with the ability to perform root cause analysis, document findings and contribute to problem resolution
  • Process improvement skills, including experience developing policies, procedures or guidelines
  • Business analysis acumen
  • ITSM understanding and expertise
  • Application knowledge, familiarity with supporting cloud based platforms in a hybrid IT environment
  • Strong stakeholder engagement
  • Technical proficiency, practical experience writing SQL queries and creating small automation scripts
