Salary Range: $118,461 to $144,571 per annum plus 15.4% superannuation

DHA manages one of Australia’s largest national housing portfolios of about 17,000 properties and has an opportunity for an experienced Development Manager to join the team.
About your team
Sitting within the Project Group, the Projects and Sales team is responsible for delivering residential developments which satisfy and fulfil the requirements of DHA’s Corporate Objectives, managing construction of properties to meet provisioning requirements, overseeing property sales, and developing and implementing Property Group related marketing activities new leads and maintaining awareness of the Property Investment Program.
About the role
There are multiple vacancies in Parramatta, NSW and Brisbane, QLD and Melbourne, VIC. We are seeking to form a merit pool for potential future opportunities within the Project Group.
As the Development Manager you will plan and lead complex development projects to achieve business objectives, on time and on budget. This includes the delivery of green or brown field residential development projects, including rezoning processes, managing and evaluating project risks, as well as influencing business outcomes to align with DHA’s goals and objectives.

The role is responsible for:
- Leading and motivating a project and consultant team to identify development opportunities and improve development concepts. This includes the management of planning, engineering, and other specialist consultants to procure development approvals that provide viable civil and built form construction delivery solutions
- Preparing consultancy and contractor briefs, as well as provide ongoing management of consultants and contractors through the full development cycle, including rezoning processes, planning and urban design, development and construction approvals, construction delivery, marketing and sales and through to final handover and project close out
- Defining project scopes and prepare and manage project programs, prepare and manage project budget and cash flow models, and undertaking feasibility assessments, monthly reports, written submissions and recommendations
- Managing the procurement processes for project consultants and contractors, including compiling tender documentation for formal tender processes and/or for other less formal procurement processes consistent with DHA procurement processes
- Managing clients and stakeholders and respond to complex client and stakeholder concerns with professionalism and sensitivity while presenting DHA’s interests. You will be required to prepare high quality reports and briefs for DHA Management.
