DHA manages one of Australia’s largest national housing portfolios of about 17,000 properties and has an opportunity for an experienced Technical Construction Officer to join the team.
About your team
As part of the Service Delivery team, Property function, you will help your broader team meet their delivery objectives for high quality housing services, including provisioning, maintenance services, stock management, housing allocation and living-in accommodation booking services.
The Property function is responsible for the delivery of developments, construction, acquisitions, sales, upgrades and heritage programs. As a member the Technical, Heritage, Upgrades & Defects (THUD) Team, you will provide technical support to the Property function and other DHA staff.
About the role
As a Technical Construction Officer, you will provide expertise and technical knowledge in locations around Australia to Project Managers on residential construction, upgrade and heritage projects, as well as support acquisition and leasing provisioning programs. You will also be responsible for providing your expertise and knowledge with managing builder’s defects and provide specialised advice to DHA Regional Office staff to assist with complex building maintenance issues.
This role will be responsible for:
- Managing, coordinating and reporting on works completed by contractors including quality assurance, accuracy against scopes and in a timely fashion
- Providing a high level of specialist technical advice and assistance with complex building maintenance issues to various stakeholders
- Conduct property inspections to identify and quantify issues, risks and defects
