About us

DHA was established in 1988 following passage of the Defence Housing Australia Act 1987 (DHA Act) to provide adequate and suitable housing for, and housing related services to, members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF) and their families. We remain committed to our purpose of providing housing, and housing related services, to ADF members and their families to support Defence’s operational needs.  

DHA manages an expanding portfolio of housing solutions and provides housing for over 17,200 ADF members and their families and administers rent allowance for more than 16,000 ADF members and their families in private rental accommodation. DHA provides housing related services advising on eligibility, providing posting support, and managing bookings and allocation services for all DHA provisioned housing and on-base accommodation to approximately 60,000 ADF members.

About your team

Governance and Communications is responsible for facilitating and administering compliance with DHA’s legislative requirements and overarching governance frameworks, as well as all communication and media activities. The work environment is dynamic, with several projects and initiatives being undertaken concurrently to improve the capability and performance of the organisation. Governance and Communications is part of the broader Enabling Services Group, which encompasses Human Resources and Legal Services.

As part of the Governance Operations Section, the Integrity and Security team oversees Integrity awareness and education in compliance with the government’s Commonwealth Fraud and Corruption Control Framework, Protective Security Policy Framework (PSPF) and administers the Public Interest Disclosure scheme.

About the role

Reporting to the Director, Governance Operations, the Assistant Director, Integrity and Security will be part of a highly professional and motivated team to ensure DHA meets its legislative responsibilities in the areas of integrity, fraud and corruption, security governance, physical security, personnel security and public interest disclosures. The Assistant Director, Integrity and Security will supervise a small team and lead the development of DHA’s fraud and corruption control, integrity and security activities and promote their importance in DHA.
